Waifu Agent Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 October 2026

This policy explains what the Waifu Agent browser extension ("the extension"), made by ZeroWeight AI, keeps on your device, what it sends to ZeroWeight or to AI providers you choose, and why. It covers the extension only; your ZeroWeight account and the ZeroWeight platform are covered by our Terms and Conditions.

What the extension does

The extension puts an AI companion in your browser side panel. She chats with you by text or voice, can look at the page you have open when you ask her about it, and can do tasks on web pages for you, such as searching, clicking and filling in forms. It works with your ZeroWeight API key, and its AI features use your ZeroWeight API credits, unless you choose to use your own AI providers for some of them (see below).

What stays on your device

The following is stored only in your browser, in the extension's own storage. It is not sent anywhere except as described in the next section, and it is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

  • Your settings: the chosen companion, reply language and advanced options.
  • Your ZeroWeight API key, and any OpenAI, Anthropic or Jev API key you add, encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a key that cannot be exported from the extension.
  • Your chat history. You can delete chats from the History view.
  • Each companion's memory of you: a short profile of lasting facts you told her (such as your name and preferences) and recent conversations not yet merged into it. Every companion has a separate memory.

What is sent to ZeroWeight, and when

The extension sends data to ZeroWeight (api.zeroweight.ai), over an encrypted connection and authenticated with your API key, only when you use a feature:

  • Your messages, typed or spoken, and the recent conversation, so your companion can reply and the extension can decide how to handle them.
  • The address and title of your active tab, with each message to your companion, so she knows which page you are on.
  • The content of a web page (its text, links, form fields and other elements) when you ask about it or ask the extension to do a task on it.
  • A screenshot of the visible part of your current tab, when you ask about what is on your screen and the page's text is not enough, or the page shows pictures or videos.
  • Your voice, only while voice input is on, to transcribe it; and your companion's replies, to turn them into speech.
  • Excerpts of your conversations with a companion, from time to time, to update that companion's memory of you.
  • Your API key, to authenticate you and to charge the API credits a request uses.

If you use your own AI providers

In the extension's advanced settings you can use your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key for the language model, and your own Jev API key from Typesafe AI for the Jev decision model. If you do, those requests go directly from your browser to that provider instead of to ZeroWeight, authenticated with your key, and are billed by that provider. ZeroWeight does not see them.

Your own language model provider receives your messages and the recent conversation, the address and title of your active tab, the content of a page when you ask about it or run a task on it, and conversation excerpts used to update your companion's memory. Your own Jev provider receives your messages and page content, to decide how to handle a message and which element on a page to use. Each key is sent only to its own provider. When you save these settings, the extension sends a small test request to check that the key works.

Those providers handle the data under their own terms and privacy policies. Screenshots, voice, and your companion's appearance, personality and speech still go through ZeroWeight as described above.

Service providers

ZeroWeight processes these requests with AI service providers working on our behalf: language and vision models (such as OpenAI, DeepSeek and xAI), the Jev decision model (Typesafe AI), and speech providers for transcription and voice (such as OpenAI, Google, MiniMax and Cartesia). Which provider handles a request depends on the feature. Each receives only what that request needs.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • The extension contains no analytics or tracking.
  • The extension does not read or send page content in the background. Pages are read only when you send a message or run a task, as described above.
  • Our use of the information the extension collects complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Permissions the extension asks for

  • Tabs and tab groups: to see which page is open, and to open, switch and group tabs during tasks you ask for.
  • Side panel: to show the chat.
  • Storage: to keep your settings, chats and companion memory on your device.
  • Access to websites: to show your companion on the page, to read and operate pages when you ask, and to take a screenshot of the visible page when you ask about it.
  • Microphone: asked for separately, the first time you turn on voice input. You can revoke it in your browser settings at any time.

Your choices

  • Delete individual chats from the History view.
  • Uninstall the extension to delete everything it stored on your device, including your API keys and every companion's memory.
  • Switch the language model or Jev back to ZeroWeight in advanced settings to stop sending data to your own provider and delete its key from your device.
  • Turn voice input off, or do not grant the microphone permission, to use text only.
  • Avoid asking about your screen on pages that show sensitive information.
  • Your ZeroWeight account data is governed by our Terms and Conditions. To ask about or delete data held by ZeroWeight, contact us at the address below.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If what the extension stores or sends changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the new version of the extension is published.
